aims to strengthen the ties between teachers and students of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in Switzerland, to improve its members in techniques and expertise of ikebana and to encourage and support its members in their artistic development and growth.

is one of more than 160 branches and study groups of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association established world-wide, propagating the artistic and technical directions from Sogetsu Headquarters in Tokyo.

was established 1984 in Geneva and currently has some 180 members living mainly in the French-speaking (85 %) and German-speaking (14 %) areas of Switzerland. Every branch member has studied and practiced Sogetsu Ikebana for at least three years.

is directed by a committee of nine bi-annually elected and three honorary Board Members.

has a strong working relationship with Sogetsu Study Group Zürich, an independent group organizing Sogetsu Ikebana activities for its German- and English-speaking members in the Zürich area. SBS also maintains links to other Sogetsu Branches and Study Groups all over Europe. Furthermore, members of SBS regularly contribute to exhibitions and other activities of their local Chapters of Ikebana International.
